A: Please, tell us a bit more about yourself. What brought you to art?

T: I found my way to art naturally. I have been fascinated by handwork since I was a child and I've always preferred to express myself visually. I studied art in Czechia as well as abroad, where I did internships among other things, and studied contextual design at the Design Academy Eindhoven, Netherlands.

A: What inspires you the most?

T: Apart from the various topics I concern myself with the biggest source of inspiration is daily continuous work in my studio. It helps ensure the constant development of my work. I can't go without daily contact with the material, experimenting with techniques, form, or content. I find work-related travels helpful because they provide a change of scenery, and lastly, reading theoretical and philosophical texts.

A: Do you have any specific rituals while working (creating)?

T: Every part of the preparatory process, whether it's theoretical or practical research. Concerning my creative work, I like it when each day at the studio follows a certain routine.

A: What would you recommend to someone new to art (an artist or just an admirer), what to begin with?

T: I believe the first step is to choose a good quality school and teacher; an environment focused on helping you find your greatest strengths and weaknesses. Be honest with yourself, dare to try new things as much as possible.

A: Your top 3 phrases related to art?

T: I prefer for my works to speak for themselves. And if I'm talking about art, then I try to avoid using phrases and describe it as best as I can.

A: Your favorite Czech artists?

T: Generally speaking, I like art that is authentic, direct, and free of biases.

A: What piece of art do you think embodies the Czech national spirit and culture? Why?

T: I don't think there is one like that as I don't like generalizing. It's better when everyone is different and unique, even if they consider themselves to be a part of a larger group.

A: The perfect phrase to start any conversation about art is: ..?

T: Words are another tool of self-expression and that can often be misleading at the expense of the artwork.

A: Where can we meet you most often?

T: I work in my studio in Žižkov, Prague.
