"Sudden imagination and feeling inspired make me sketch that moment"

A: What brought you into art?

Y: I started to explore my emotions through drawing and had many opportunities to experience art. Also, my parents often brought me to an art gallery so it was a familiar thing to me.

A: What inspires you the most?

Y: Sudden imagination and feeling inspired make me sketch that moment. Mostly, I habitually observe circumstances and extract perspective that inspires me.

A: Do you have any specific rituals while working(creating)?

Y: I usually draw the output in an image and if I am dissatisfied with it, I stop all processes and don't look at it for a week. It helps me to get out of mannerisms and think of fresh ideas.

A: What would you recommend to someone new to art (an artist or just an admirer), what to begin with?

Y: I would recommend seeing many exhibitions and artworks to train sense. Sense is the most important thing to start art and it will help someone to enter art.

A: Must-read books to talk about art (or do we even need them)?

Y: I always recommend reading contemporary art books for reference and books about teaching basic drawing skills.

A: What would it be if you could change one thing in the art world?

Y: I would change the separation between Oriental painting and Western painting. It's just a difference with material.

A: Please, share your favorite quote (not necessarily related to art)

Y: The important thing is not to break your heart.
