A: What brought you into art?
P: From an early age I loved playing with clay. I was lucky enough to grow up in a
family with a strong artistic sensibility, but I didn't think of becoming a sculptress
professionally. After graduating in literature, I had started a path in journalism.
Due to a series of incredible circumstances, I finally landed on this extremely
creative work, for which I am really grateful.
A: What inspires you the most?
P: Different aspects of life: from nature to human relationships, from images of
everyday life to some words I read by chance
A: Do you have any specific rituals while working(creating)?
P: While working I sometimes listen to music, other times I prefer absolute silence,
especially in the moment of creation
A: What would you recommend to someone new to art (an artist or just an admirer), what to begin with?
P: I would suggest approaching clay with no expectations of any kind, just as a
game. Manipulate the clay to feel its consistency and plasticity, a bit like you did
at school with glue during some lessons…
A: Your top 3 adjectives related to art?
P: Free, unconscious, imaginative
A: The best angle to look at art is from..?
P: For the sculpture it depends mostly on the light
A: The Perfect phrase to start any conversation about art is:.?
P: Art is an expression of freedom
A: Must-read books to talk about art (or do we even need them)?
Art is a language directed to the unconscious but naturally knowing the history of
art helps to locate it and to understand its various phases. One of the best books
I would recommend is the history of art by Giulio Carlo Argan, but also the
monographies of great artists. I enjoyed much the ones of Camille Claudel,
Michelangelo, but also of Marina Abramovic, just to name a few…
A: What would it be if you could change one thing in the art world?
P: I would like a direct relationship between art and its audience
A: Please, share your favorite quote (not necessarily related to art)
P: “Creativity is intelligence having fun” (Albert Einstein)
