A: Please, tell us a bit more about yourself. What brought you to art?
K: I grew up in a family where everyone was connected with arts, mainly visual arts, music, and literature. Maybe this is one of the reasons I started to paint at an early age.
My very first artwork was noticed by my family friend, a professor of arts at the art academy, and he advised my parents that I should start an academic art education.
During my years at the art academy, I was mainly inspired by surrealism, as I believe it is the only art style that opens for us a world of our imagination while our eyes see reality.
A: What inspires you the most?
K: When I was young, the main inspiration for my work I found in ancient civilizations and philosophy. The older I got, the more I understand how important is the world, love, and life around us, so I am more focused now on transmitting this beauty, through the symbols and colors to artwork.
I have three main points in my artwork, it’s the clearness of the line, the harmony of colors, and symbolic meanings.
A: Do you have any specific rituals while working (creating)?
K: Yes, of course, I do have my rituals while creating. And I believe every artist has them. Especially those rituals are important at the beginning of the new creation. And since the process of creation is very intimate for me, I would keep them for myself.
A: What would you recommend to someone new to art (an artist or just an admirer), what to begin with?
K: I believe that contemporary artists and art admirers could use the experience of the previous generations. Nowadays artistic people and artists at the beginning of their careers have a strong fundament of the previous generations. This is why, my advice is: Don’t deny the old to create or admire the new, but rather do the opposite, get inspired by the old beauty and knowledge created long before we were born.
A: Your top 3 adjectives related to art?
K: Powerful. Immortal. Beautiful.

A: Your favorite Czech artists?
K: Frantisek Kupka, Frantisek Bilek and Egon Schiele
A: Is there a piece of art you think embodies the Czech national spirit and culture? Why?
K: It would be Slavic Epoch by Alphonse Mucha. Because I think it includes everything that I can feel in the Czech nation, the softness, the strength, and the history.
A: The perfect way to start any conversation about art is: …?
K: “Let’s talk about Poetry”
A: Where can we meet you most often?
K: Probably it’s when I am walking from my art gallery to my favorite tobacco shop.
A: Please, share your favorite quote (not necessarily related to art)
K: “Let each man pass his days in that wherein his skill is the greatest” (Propertius)
