A: What brought you into art?

S: When I was a kid, there was a little contest in my school which we had to draw a tree… I finished second and felt very proud of my drawing skill.

I felt like it was the actually first thing that could use to make a difference in this world

A: What inspires you the most?

S: Movies and videos games are what inspires me the most. I love how powerful the storytelling can be trough a visual media. My principal focus is on drawing the feeling of memories and melancholy

A: Do you have any specific rituals while working(creating)?

S: I like to set everything up before creating, such as sharpening my pencils. It’s a whole ritual and it takes concentration, but once you finish sharpening it, you’re kind into a trance already ! Adds some relaxing musics and it’s the perfect environment to start creating

A: What would you recommend to someone new to art (an artist or just an admirer), what to begin with?

S: Honestly, if you like something, just do it. Do not care about what others think. This would be the first step

Second step should be then studied why you like it, and how you can translate it with your own tools.

To help you on this stage, it is important to learn about what has been made in history, learn about people who masters the subject you are interest in.

It’s important to practice, but without knowledges, your learning curves isn’t gonna be efficient .

And lastly, always be curious about everything, you could learn to draw by not drawing, but observing, analyzing, using other mediums etc…

A: Your top 3 adjectives related to art?

S: Intense, sublime, inspirational

A: The best angle to look at art is from..?

S: Everywhere, you can find beauty in everything and every media. They are all valuable and are all connected

A: The Perfect phrase to start any conversation about art is:.?

S: That’s an interesting question but I have no idea actually ahah

A: Must-read books to talk about art (or do we even need them)?

S: You don’t need books nowadays to talk about art, you can watch every media such as internet, podcast, videos, social media

A: What would it be if you could change one thing in the art world?

S: In my utopical dream world, art would not be tie with money so it could be more sincere. I’m tired of money laundry art, « fake » artist and other insanity we keep seeing (yes bad art exists !)

A: Please, share your favorite quote (not necessarily related to art)

S: Enjoy the process !
